Haruna Ali Akuma

Haruna Ali Akuma is an Associate and Head of Operations at Summit Legal, where he serves as the strategic linchpin coordinating the firm’s workflow, business operations, and HR. In this capacity, he drives operational efficiencies, oversees human resources, and ensures robust regulatory compliance across the firm’s practice areas.

He is instrumental in developing and refining internal systems and processes that align with Summit Legal’s broader legal and commercial objectives, while fostering seamless collaboration between the firm’s legal department and administrative teams.

Haruna holds an LL.B. and a Diploma in Law from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. His legal education and hands-on experience have cultivated a deep interest in the practical intersection of law, business management, and the construction and real estate sectors.

Before assuming his current role, Haruna served as an Intern at Belgore, Daubry & Ajiya LLP (prior to its rebrand), where he was exposed to the rigors and rigmarole of legal practice. He contributed to the firm’s legal and transactional workflow through legal research, case law and statutory analysis, review and preparation of legal process, and support in drafting deeds, contracts, and other legal instruments.

He also assisted in reviewing complex commercial and property transactions, identifying legal and commercial risks, and developing research-driven solutions to support the firm’s lawyers in advising clients and advancing their matters. He is an astute legal researcher with proficiency in writing and advocacy.
